About Us

Although this foundation exists to be a light in the world, it was formed out of a season of darkness. In September of 2021, Grace Harris was just weeks away from fulfilling her childhood dream of marriage, when her life took an unforeseen turn. Rather than spending the weeks leading up to her wedding finalizing the details of her “big day,” Grace became severely ill and began fighting for her life. During these weeks, her family and friends from all over the world rallied on her behalf and prayed for her healing. On October 18th, their prayers were answered, but not as they had hoped. Just five days before Grace’s wedding, she tragically passed away.

While loved ones mourned her passing, they expressed how much Grace meant to them. Time and time again, it was said that “Grace was a light.” Upon realizing the impact Grace left on people’s hearts, her family and friends determined Grace’s light must continue to shine, so The Grace Harris-Nichols Foundation was created for this purpose.

However, we know that her light did not come from her, but rather something that shone through her. Grace loved God, and she loved serving Him. It was His light that she carried to the world--whether the client sitting in her chair at the salon, the customer across the counter at the gift shop where she worked, or the orphan she embraced in her arms. Grace truly was a light in this world. And we desire to be one, too.
